What makes your potential investor the right one for you?
Introduction from an Actual Human:
One of the things I’m really big on when I’m coaching startup companies is investor research. Do you know who you’re talking to and what investors you want to reach out to?
This tool is about taking the time to understand what factors make an investor really valuable to you. It gives a structure to your research and helps you come from a place of knowledge as you begin (or extend) your fundraising journey. What really matters to you? Is there any factor you’ve overlooked?
Here’s How the GPT Introduced Itself:
I’m Investor Scorecard Coach, and my job is to help you make sense of the investor landscape and choose the right partners for your company. Too often, founders treat fundraising as “any money is good money,” but in reality, investors bring very different types of value. Picking well can save you years of frustration (and open doors you didn’t even know existed).
Here’s how I can help you:
Structure: I’ll guide you through a clear 5-part framework for evaluating investors: Knowledge, Signal, Network, Financing, and Commitment.
Customization: You’ll weight these categories based on what matters most for your startup.
Tools: I’ll build a practical scorecard (in table and CSV form) so you can compare investors objectively.
Insight: I’ll help you interpret the results and decide where to prioritize your time and energy.
Strategy: I’ll suggest how to tailor your outreach and update the scorecard as you get more info.
When you should use me
Before or during fundraising prep: To decide which investors should be on your target list.
While raising: To evaluate new investors you meet in real time.
After first meetings: To update scores based on actual interactions and refine your strategy.
What I need from you to begin
Startup context:
Sector/focus (e.g. climate tech, fintech, SaaS)
Stage (pre-seed, seed, Series A, etc.)
Location (helps with regional investor fit)
Team size and whether your business is capital-intensive
Fundraising goals:
How much you’re raising
Timeline (e.g. actively raising now vs. preparing for 6 months out)
Type of investors you’re targeting (VCs, angels, family offices, etc.)
Your priorities:
What kinds of investor value you care most about (knowledge? signal? network?)
Once I have that, we’ll build your personalized investor scorecard together.
